TRE is a stand alone modality. “It involves doing a series of exercises that assists the body in releasing deep muscular patterns of stress and tension. The exercises safely activate a natural and instinctual reflex mechanism of shaking or vibrating that releases muscular tension and stored emotion and calms down the nervous system. When this muscular shaking/vibrating mechanism is activated in a safe and controlled environment, the body is encouraged to return back to a state of balance.
After practicing TRE® people describe feeling ‘grounded’, ‘relaxed’ and ‘calmer’
- Trauma prevention international.

This is another tool that is used to help clients release tension patterns and stored emotions and can help achieve an overall balance, by releasing deep tension and facilitating the activation of parasympathetic (rest and digest) nervous system.

These sessions will be adjusted to suit whatever is required by your current physical and mental state. We will look at ways to alleviate tensions, limitations and pain, as well as ways to strengthen areas that are identified as compromised or lacking strength. You will be guided to move in a way that facilitates mobility, strength as well as flexibility.
We will work with breath and mindfulness as a way to bring a state or calm and balance to your nervous system. We will also move more vigorously to promote blood-flow, lengthening and strengthening the body to invigorate and enliven where appropriate.
Tension & Trauma Release Exercises (TRE)
Initial consultation & 90min session • R900
Subsequent 60min session • R650
The introductory TRE session is 90 minutes long. Before the session you will be asked to full out an intake form which gives me some background information about you and your past experiences as well as current physical and mental state.
We will discuss some of the things shared in the intake form in this first session. After this I will share and teach you about self regulation and then take you through a series of simple exercises that will be modified to suit your body.
We will then move to the floor where I will guide you through a gentle tremoring session of between 5 and 15 minutes. We will be guided by your body as to how long you will tremor for.
After the session it is important to pay careful attention to what your body needs and thus practice self care. You may feel slightly tired or even sensitive. You may also feel energised and invigorated.
Once you have done an introductory TRE session, yoga and TRE can be combined but the initial session will be purely TRE.

TRE is a series of exercises that helps the body release deep muscular patterns of stress and tension. It safely activates a natural reflex mechanism of shaking or vibrating that releases muscular tension, stored emotions, and calms the nervous system, helping the body return to a balanced state.
TRE helps with stress release by activating the body's natural tremoring mechanism in a controlled environment. This process releases stored tension and facilitates activation of the parasympathetic (rest and digest) nervous system, resulting in reduced stress, improved sleep, and increased sense of calm.
